DONCASTER ANNOUNCE BESTER AS COACH
The Doncaster Football Club is pleased to announce Adam Bester as senior coach for 2010.
Adam played for 135 games Burnie Football Club from 96 -05 where he played under Mick McGuane, Matt Armstrong and Peter German.
He was vice captain for 5 years and during that period was runner up in the B&F. The team also won 5 premierships and in 05 he played 6 games for Tasmania in the VFL - missing further games due to injury.
He then moved to Victoria to enhance work as a school teacher.
In 2006 he played for East Burwood before a move to Balwyn in 2007.
He has played as an on-ball/centre/half forward for three years including a premiership with the club in 2008. He was highly recommended for a coaching role by Daniel Harford.
Adam ventures to ‘Shark Park’ in 2010 as a playing coach where he is described as a hard at it onballer.
While this is his first coaching role, both he and Doncaster believe he is ready to take on the challenge after the experience he has gained under some of the best coaches outside of the AFL.
Doncaster would also like to take this opportunity to thank all candidates who applied and wish Adam all the best as the club moves to division three for the first time since 1996. In a big year of change for Doncaster, at their recent AGM it was agreed the club would be reverting back to their previous Geelong style jumper in 2010.
