MEDIA VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
The EFL media team is a dedicated group of volunteers that help each week produce the leagues radio, football record and website coverage.
This year the media team is looking for any past/current players or coaches that might be interested in being involved with our EFL Sunday program or in the role of special comments for our Saturday broadcast games.
Our EFL Sunday program from 10am to midday Sunday mornings is a review of all the senior games from Saturday, with as many as 8 senior coaches interviewed each show by our media panel. Panel members will be able to ask questions of coaches, and also will be needed to comment/review other games of the round.
A special commentator is used for a number of purposes on the Saturday afternoon radio broadcasts between 1pm - 5pm. The first is to give their opinions on pieces of play during a game. When a goal is scored, or a good piece of play occurs, the special commentator will usually give their opinion on the piece of play leading up to it. Special commentators often keep an eye on match ups, and inform the audience on how those match ups are changing during the match.
Both of the above roles will be on a roster basis, with interested volunteer media team members not having to committ to a weekly role, but as much time as they are willing to committ.
The EFL media team also has a number of other roles available during the year, with volunteers given an opportunity to experience different areas of the media with hands on experience, which is advantageous for those hoping to forge a career in this area.
The league runs a media training night each year prior to the seasons start as well.
If you are interested in being part of the EFL media team in 2010, whether you are a past/current player, budding media student or just love local football, contact Media Manager Anthony Stanguts via email, providing your resume / background information to astanguts@efl.org.au.
