EFL FIXTURE CHANGES

The recommendations put to councils to defer the commencement of the season have been accepted by all councils that provide facilities for EFL clubs. It is a positive step in ensuring that grounds are in the best possible condition for the 2007 season.

Councils will maintain a general ban regarding the use of grounds for practice matches.  I understand that there may be one or two exceptions approved earlier in the year but do not expect there to be any further approvals.

Whilst this is no doubt an inconvenience to clubs, it is a position that the league supports in the long term interest of the overall competition.

A new draw has been developed that minimizes the disruption to events already planned by clubs.  A summary of these changes are detailed in the table below

For division 3 and 4 matches planned for April 21, some changes to home ground venues are under consideration and we are in discussion with the effected clubs and councils.

The junior season commencement date will be April 29, with games being played Queens Birthday weekend. The fixture is currently be developed and due for release early April.

Div 1 & 2

All games commence April 28

Round one fixtured matches have been transferred to Saturday 9th June (Queens Birthday weekend )

Div 3 & 4

All games scheduled to start weekend of April 21

Round two fixtured matches have been transferred to Saturday 9th June (Queens Birthday weekend ). Round 2 was selected for transfer to avoid clubs having to play each other twice within three weeks
