NUNAWADING AND KILSYTH SWAP GRADES

The EFL board last night approved the regrading of the Nunawading and Kilsyth Football Clubs for season 2010.

Severely short of club administrators and having lost a significant number of senior players meant the Nunawading Football Club would not be competitive in division three in 2010. Consequently a move to division four was requested by the club to support their efforts to build an ongoing and more sustainable operation. The Nunawading Football Club is clearly of the view that it must initially take a step back in their efforts to go forward. The board supported the Nunawading Football Club request as being in the best interests of the club and the overall competition.

The Kilsyth Football Club was invited to consider elevation into third division for season 2010. After significant consultation between committee, coaching staff and players, Kilsyth provided the league with a request to take the position vacated by the Nunawading Football Club in division three. After meeting club officials and further discussing the clubs current situation, the board supported the ambitions of the Kilsyth Football Club and approved their elevation to division three for season 2010.

The 2010 fixtures for each division will remain unchanged with the exception of Nunawading and Kilsyth filling each other’s positions in the draw.
